WELCOME TO THE BUCHANAN THEATER
Located on Main Street in the small town of Buchanan, the registered historic building is the only movie theater in Botetourt County, Virginia.
It is owned by Standing Room Only, Inc., a nonprofit corporation, organized in accordance with IRS Code Section 501(c)(3). See the current board of directors here.
It is operated as a community service to provide affordable nights out for local citizens. Movies and occasional live performances are regularly scheduled on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 pm, Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm, and Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm. Special showings are arranged on request by schools, churches, and other organizations. Cinema selections include both late run and classic movies. Additionally, the theater is available for rentals for family gatherings and organizational meetings.
Theater operation and management is conducted exclusively by volunteers.
Tickets & Concessions:
The Buchanan Theater is dedicated to serving the community and part of that is accomplished by keeping prices low. Adult admission is only $6, kids under 12 are only $3. With an annual membership ($15 year) enjoy $1 off every adult ticket. The ticket box opens 30 minutes prior to every show and is first come first served. Seats are not assigned and cannot be guaranteed in advance. Gift certificates are available and can be redeemed at the box office or concession stand.

Concessions prices are also kept to a minimum so that EVERYONE can enjoy fresh hot popcorn and a cold drink during the movie. A bucket of popcorn is only $4.00. A smaller bag is available for $2. Cans of Pepsi products and bottled water are available for $1 each and a wide selection of your favorite movie theater candy is available from $1 - $2 each.

A family of 4 can enjoy a real movie experience for less than $30 at the Buchanan Theater. (2 adult tickets, 2 kids tickets, 2 buckets of popcorn and 4 drinks for only $30) Why spend $100 or more for the same thing in a big chain theater?
